Updated List of Prohibited Items

This list is indicative in nature and is subject to changes from time to time.

1. Alcohol and Liquor

• Alcoholic beverages such as beer (including draught beer), spirits, wines, alcopop, liqueurs, other preparations in any form that are consumable as alcoholic beverages.
• Empty collectible alcoholic container not identified as empty in the description
• Products promoting consumption of alcohol and smoking

2. Animals and Wildlife Products

• Animals and Wildlife Products: Any wild life Product, Article, Animal which are mentioned in the Wildlife act and its all amendments and its Schedules and Parts of the said act.
• Animal organs or animal corpses that contain organs and Live animals, insects, and other wildlife
• Illegally hunted wild animal, animal trophy (skin, teeth, nails etc.) or uncured trophy or meat derived from any wild animal.
• Bear traps, steel jaw leg-hold traps and similar items
• Wild file Animal Articles such as ivory or bone made items, cured or uncured trophies made out of animal parts, meat, and snake venom
• Items made from marine mammals Items with feather(s) or other parts of protected birds, Wild file Natural fur products or products trimmed natural fur and Products made from the hide of a donkey, tiger or animal skin wild animals.
• Parts or products from endangered or threatened species such as bears, mountain lions, cats, dogs, whales, sharks, dolphins, or porpoises
• Products made from Snake Oil, Honeycomb, restricted animals skuls
• Products made out of Crustaceans, marine insects, coelenterates which include corals such as orange pipe coral, reef-building coral, fire coral, black coral, and sea fan, Molluscs, Echinodermata which includes all holothurians, are not allowed to be listed on the platform as per Schedule 1, Part 4, Wildlife act, 1972. Example: show pieces made out of Reef- building coral / Mollusca Shell/ Conch Shell/ Shankha/Sea Shell
• Dogs, pups, or fish, etc.

3. Content

• Contact Information and User databases
• Ringtones, Unauthorized reproductions, Contracts and Copyrights, Content violating copyright or trademark
• Incorrect Indian Map
• Government IDs, Licenses, Permits, Coins/Currency/Stamps in circulation including but not limited to verticals such as Showpiece Figurine, Coin Collection, etc. Books including any content having nudity/erotic language or image, pornography or explicit sexual content including child pronograph, disturbing religious or communal harmony, religious advocacy (either advocating or demeaning any religion).
• Contents which are threatening, abusive, intolerant, or harassing, or content that advocates or discriminates against a protected group (whether based on race, color, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, age or any similar or another category, child ponography)
• Hacking and cracking materials which includes manuals, how-to guides, or information enabling illegal access to software, servers, watomites, or other protected property
• Deceptive, false, or misleading, controversial, defamatory, libelous, illegal or invasive of another's privacy
• Content promoting competitor's websites or any product without Brand Authorization.
• Product image/graphic/language which are obscene, profane, lascivious, foul, vulgar, sexually explicit in nature, suggestive language or double entendres.
• Political content/image such as campaigns for or against a politician or a political party, or products related to election theme which are defaming or derogatory in nature or encourage polarization of the electorate through hurting national / religious sentiments, or content related to political issues of public debate.

4. Other Tobacco Products

• Cigars, Beedis, cheroots, chewing tobacco, pipe tobacco, hookah tobacco, snuff, Pan Masala, Gutkha.

5. Cosmetics

• Stem cell extracts in cosmetic products including but not limited to verticals such as anti-ageing, attar, body skin treatments, facial kit, fairness, hair serums, hair treatment, scrub, vitamin supplement, etc.
• Any cosmetic products that require a prescription or a medical professional's supervision or direction for their use
• Cosmetic products with tampered packaging, damaged, seal opened, etc. whether used or not
• Expired, misbranded, counterfiet, infringed, spurious or adulterated cosmetics products, cosmetic testers, samples, etc.
• Cosmetics containing regulated (restricted, prohibited, controlled) ingredients such as arsenic, lead, bithionol, mercury compounds, vinyl chloride, halogenated salicyclanilides, zirconium complexes, chloroform, hydroquinone, methylene chloride, chlorofluorocarbon propellants, hexachlorophene, methyl methacrylate monomers in nail polishes, phthalates in nail lacquers, fluoride content, dyes/colors/pigments, etc. exceeding the prescribed limit, as outlined under cosmetic laws read with IS 4707 (part 1 &2).
• Cosmetics (Indian origin) shall not be sold or distributed if those are not manufactured by a licensed manufacturer, labelled and packed as per Cosmetics Rules, 2020
• Cosmetics (Foreign origin) shall not be sold or distributed if those are not imported under a valid registration and labelled as per Cosmetics Rules, 2020

6. Drugs and Accessorial Devices

• Any misbranded or adulterated or spurious or counterfeit drug or a patent or proprietary medicine without the true formula or ingredients with their quantity
• Any illegal drugs/cosmetics/medical devices eg - illegally imported, unlicensed, banned, unsafe, morphed, products that simulate the effects of any illegal drug etc.
• Product containing narcotic & pschotropic substances (eg- Cannabis, Cocaine, opium, morphine, heroin, codeine, or thebaine etc.), controlled substances, Schedule X drugs including any other products prohibited or restricated under Narcotics & Psychotropic Substances Act.
• Drug paraphernalia
• Any drugs that require quantity to be restricted or consumer purchases to be registered
• Products that contain deer antler velvet or ingredients derived from sharks, whales, dolphins, snacks or porpoises
• Veterinary prescription drugs and devices
• Drug test circumvention aids which includes drug cleansing shakes, urine test additives, and related items
• Vitamin and Protein supplement products / drugs containing prohibited substances such as Sildenafil Citrate, etc.
• Combo products of Condom with Tablets
• Shilajit products listed in verticals other than 'Ayurveda', with FSSAI approval, or without a valid Ayush license. Products such as Talisman, Mantra, Kavacha, Vashikaran claiming to have magical benefits or remedy for quick health fixes
• Sexual wellness products with profane images, false/misleading claims for the maintenance or improvement of the capacity of human beings for sexual pleasure
• Sexual enlargement Cream, sexual wellness toys, condoms with vibrating rings, extended reusable condoms, condom sleeves
• Any banned Medical devices and IVD kits e.g TB serodiagnostic kit & Antibody Malaria kit
• Ayurvedic, Unani & Siddha drugs under schedule E1.
• Prescription drugs/ nicotine gums or logenges potency exceeding 2mg/ product label containing prescription warning/products shall not be sold without supervision of medical professional: Schedule H, G, H1.
• Vitamin and Protein supplement products/drugs containing prohibited substances such as Sildenafil Citrate
• Products falling under Schedule X, RX pills, Condom with Tablets (Combo)
• Prescription drugs or herbal drugs or any kind of online pharmacies which includes drugs or other products requiring a prescription by a licensed medical practitioner.
• Drugs shall not be allowed to sell, stock or exhibit/display or offer for sale without obtaining a valid license/ registraiton from concerned Drugs & Cosmetics authority as applicable.

7. Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems (ENDS)

E - Cigarettes, Heat-Not-burn devices, Vape and Vape accessories - like Vape chargers, Vape refills, e-Sheesha, e-Nicotine, e-hookahs, Hookah Coal/ pipe/mouthpiece/mouth tip/Flavours/Crusher and devices that enable nicotine delivery.

8. Electronic and Other Devices

• Jammer of any kind such as cell, GPS, radar, WiFi jammers, radar detectors, including but not limited to radio frequency transmitters that are designed to block all radio communication on any device operating on radio frequencies within its range.
• Buoys operating on radio frequencies assigned to Automatic Identification Systems (AIS).
• Any device(s) that replace existing technology in a video game or game console.
• Modified game consoles and games, any device(s) that replace existing technology in a video game or game console, any boot disk, card, emulator, or loader, Import converters, Power amplifiers compatible with CB radios, etc.
• Satellite and cable TV descramblers, DVD duplicators that circumvent protections against copyright infringement, Blu-ray players altered to disable region coding, Cell phone unlocking devices, Jailbroken cell phones, etc.
• Items prohibited by Cellular Operators' Association of India (COAI) in verticals including, but not limited to, Antenna Amplifier, Router Antenna Booster, Router signal booster, and Router.
• Wireless Telegraphy Apparatus such as Mobile Signal Boosters. Traffic devices including but not limited to radar detectors/jammers, license plate covers, traffic signal changers, etc.
• Cable descramblers, black boxes, and related products which include devices intended to obtain cable and satellite signals for free.
• Hacking and cracking materials which includes equipment enabling illegal access to software, servers, automations, Copyright unlocking devices, mod chips, or other devices designed to circumvent copyright protection or other protected intellectual property.
• Electronic Surveillance Equipment (unless permitted by law)
• Car seat belt alarm stopper devices and related products

9. Explosives, Flammable, and Other Materials

• Any materials classified as explosives under the Explosive Act. This is including but not limited to substances such as gunpowder, gun-cotton, picric acid, fog-signals, fireworks, fuses, rockets, percussion-caps, detonators, cartridges, etc.
• Flammable material like petroleum, natural gas, Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG), acetone, wood naphtha, etc.
• Equipment manufactured and sold for the purposes of LPG use such as Gas Refill transfer nozzle (Nozzle, Gas Transfer Nozzle, Gas Refilling Socket, and LPG Gas Transfer Machine) LPG Cylinder of all sizes
• Pyrotechnic devices, fireworks, safety matches, oxygen candles, explosive bolts and other fasteners, parts of automotive airbags, as well as gas- pressure blasting in mining, quarrying, and demolition, flammable materials, related products, toxic, radioactive substances, etc.

10. Food Products

• Food products / ingredients that are prohibited or restricted by the Food safety and standards Authority of India (FSSAI) or Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) as applicable. Food that is deemed as unsafe i.e. adultrated, misbranded, expired, false or misleading Food that do not comply with applicable regulations for specified category Food products are not allowed to sell, stock or exhibit/display or offer for sale without a valid licence, valid kind of business(kob) and valid food products category.

11. Fertilizers

• Fertilizers which are subject to Fertilizers Control Order,1985 shall not be allowed to sell, stock or exhibit/display or offer for sale by any sellers for agriculture purposes.
• Fertilizers which are subject to Fertilizers Control Order, 1985 shall not be allowed to sell, stock or exhibit/display or offer for sale without a valid license from the concerned agriculture department only for gardening purposes( i.e. flower bed, kitchen garden, lawn, etc).

12. Games and Events

• Gaming/gambling which includes lottery tickets, sports bets, memberships/ enrolment in online gambling sites, and related content
• Manjha or Kite Flying Threads including but not limited to monofilament thread, synthetic/nylon glass coated threads used for kite flying.
• Hot air balloon, flying lanterns/kites, etc

13. Game, Guns and Projectiles, Non-projectiles

• Airsoft /air/BB guns, pellet guns, paintball guns, blow guns or dart guns, replica/imitation guns, Sling shots, or any part used to build, update or enhance a game gun
• Ammunition of any type (including pellets, BBs, darts, paintballs, slingshot ammunition, all varieties of clips and magazines) or any product used to create ammunition
• Any gun or accessory containing a visual-spectrum laser, Grenades and grenade launchers of any type (including airsoft and paintball), Golf ball launchers or toothpick crossbows,
• Brass knuckles, leaded canes or other leaded sticks, nightsticks/billy clubs, nunchuks, saps/blackjacks, kunsari-fundo, sansetsukon, throwing stars, Claws or spikes that attach to the shoe or other clothing item or any body part, Weapons designed to be concealed, etc.

14. Hookah and Accessories

Hookah with accessories are not allowed, Hookah and Hookah Flavour are not allowed to be sold in Karnataka.

15. Hazardous Substances

• Any chemical substance or compound that is intended for commercial, industrial, or professional use only and which are not meant for general consumer including but not limited to corrosive acids, corrosive bases, nitric acid, sulphuric acid, hydrocloric acid, sodium hydroxide(caustic soda), etc.
• Any Hazardous substance which by reason of its characteristics such as physical, chemical, Biological, reactive, toxic, flammable, explosive, corrosive, radioactive which causes or likely to cause danger to health or environment. Handheld UV Sanitizer Wands of all variants, including but not limited to, Portable UV sanitizer wands, Handheld UV light sanitizer wands, UV light sanitizer travel wands, Ion UV sanitizer UV wands, UV Light Sanitizers, Portable Disinfection Lamp Sterilizers UV Sterilization Lamps
• Any products that inflict unnecessary pain and harm to animals, such as Glue Pads, Glue traps, snap traps, insect trap etc.

16. Insecticides

Insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides banned in India including commercial/industrial/agricultural pesticides (excluding household insecticides) shall not be allowed to sell, stock or exhibit/display or offer for sale without a valid license from the concerned agriculture department.

17. Infringing Products

Counterfeit/pirated goods Infringing any of the legaly enforceable Intellectual property rights including infringing any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights.

18. Illegal, Offensive, and Unsold Products

Illegal:

Products which include materials, products, or information promoting illegal products or enabling illegal acts, Human Organs (parts and remains), and products violating any extant law.

Regulated:

Products such as Air Bags, Batteries containing Mercury, Freon, Car titles or logos, license plates, lock-picking devices, postage meters, recalled items, slot machines, and other products regulated by government or specifications outlined by any of its agencies.

Offensive:

Products or listings which includes book, pamphlet, paper, writing, drawing, painting, representation, figure, literature, products, images, or other materials that:

• Defame or slander any person or groups of people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, political sentiment, religion, sex or other factors
• Exhibit profane images, examples including but not limited to, see-through products under innerwear
• Portray disrespectful representation of national flag, national emblem, or national symbols.
• Encourage or incites violence, intolerance or hatred in any way
• Harm minors or outrage the modesty of women
• Threaten the unity, integrity, defense, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, public order, causes incitement to the commission of any cognizable offence, prevents investigation of any offense, or insults any other nation.
• Display as grossly harmful, harassing, blasphemous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, paedophilic, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically objectionable, disparaging, relating or encouraging money laundering or gambling, or otherwise unlawful in any manner whatever.
• Display the controversial Nazi Insignia and Memorabilia.
• Display quotes such as 'Ban China', 'Make in China', 'Boycott China'.
• Contain unvalidated maps or incorrect geographic information.
• Defames or makes fun of public figures/celebrities/national leaders of the present or past.
• Include inter-religious images.

Unsold:

Items such as Stamps, PincodeDak Packaging Materials, products with disclaimer 'Not for online sale', Direct Selling Brands, Edibles without FSSAI mark, Real Estate, Stolen Property, Promotional Items, Used Clothing, Funeral Items such as caskets, urns and grave markers.

• Embargoed Goods, services, or technology imported from a Prohibited Region or Country listed in the PincodeDak Group OFAC Policy
• The Indian National Flag, in any form (Print/Embroidery/Material), is not acceptable on any Apparel/Garment/Costume above or below the body waist including masks. However, if the Garment/Apparel/Costume/mask is of tricolor without Ashoka Chakra, it is acceptable, except in the Footwear/Alcohol Bottle/Floor Mat/Lingeries.
• Govardhan rock/holy soils claiming to have religious importance or magical effects, Holy books tied to a keychain, Balidhan logo, Indian Army Logo, diety-face cut images present on case & cover, or similar blasphemous and disrespectful portayal of products that are against national/religious sentiments.

19. Knives

Sharp-edged and deadly weapons, namely: Swords (including sword- sticks), daggers, bayonets, spears (including; lances and javelins), battle- axes, knives (including Kirpans and Khukries) and other such weapons with blades longer than 9" or wider than 2" other than those designed for domestic, agricultural, scientific or industrial purposes, steel batton, “Zipo” and other such weapons called 'life preservers', machinery for making arms, other than category II, and any other arms which the Central Government may notify under Section 4 of the Arms Rule.

This includes but not limited to spring actuated knives, garraridar knives, bottondar knives and other knives which open or close with any other mechanical device with a sharp edged blade, knives(including balisong, butterfly, gravity, automatic/ out the front, paratrooper, push dagger, switchblade, replica/imitation switchblades, stiletto, shobi-zue, slasher, boot), any knives that are hidden or disguised or concealed, sword canes, axes, machetes, swords/decorative swords that are not purely ornamental and are marketed as ready for use as a weapon and are not designed for home improvement, etc.

20. Plant, Plant Products, Seeds, Pet Animals

• All types of harmful and/or poisonous products (in any form, such as Seeds, Plants, Liquid or powder) such as, poppy seeds, Red Poppies, gunja, poppy, crotons seeds, Beddomes' cycad (Cycas beddomei), Blue Vanda (Vanda soerulec), Kuth (Saussurea lappa), Ladies slipper orchids (Paphiopedilum spp.), Pitcher plant (Nepenthes khasiana), Red Vanda (Rananthera imschootiana), datura, cannabies/hemp plant, etc.
• Any plants, plant products, or seeds subject to central, state, or local government quarantine or other restrictions are not allowed for listing. Plants, plant products, or seeds classified as controlled substances are not permitted.

21. Plastic and Thermocol

Plastic Carry Bags, non-woven plastic carry bags, Single use Plastic such as earbuds with plastic sticks, plastic sticks for balloons, plastic flags, candy sticks, ice-cream sticks, polystyrene [Thermocol] for decoration; plates, cups, glasses, cutlery such as forks, spoons, knives, straw, trays, wrapping or packaging plastic films/tube around sweet boxes/ invitation cards/cigarette packets/books/magazine/greeting cards, cling film, Plastic Film, plastic or PVC banners, Plastic Buntings, flex banners less than 100micron, stirrers, plastic sheets (used for spreading on the dining table), Plastic micro beads, Plastic coated paper plates/cups/glasses, plastic packaging material less than 50 microns.

22. Police and Military Grade Products

• The sale of Police and Military Grade Products such as real or replica badges, including those from government agencies, departments, TSA, private security companies, private investigators, special events, and movie props, are strictly prohibited. This also extends to badge patches, law enforcement ID cards, private company ID cards, lanyards, credentials, and other items related to Police, Army, Navy, and Air Force.
• The selling of products related to Police and Military grade items includes but not limited to metal handcuffs (not allowed, even in the toy category), stun batons, Tasers, mace, and disguised stun guns, products such as tear gas, weapons designed for concealment, bulletproof gear, and other items associated with Police, Army, Navy, and Air Force are prohibited.

23. Prohibited Products by Territory

Products or any of the products' components/ingredients are grown, produced, manufactured, extracted, processed in, sourced from or transported through any of the following jurisdictions: Iran (Persia), North Korea, Cuba, Syria, Ukraine [Limited to the Crimean Peninsula, Donetsk People's Republic (DNR), and Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) regions]

24. Products under Mandatory Licencing/Certification Requirements of Bureau of Indian Standards

Products under mandatory licencing or certification scheme shall not be allowed to sell, stock or exhibit/display or offer for sale without obtaining licence or certifications from BIS Authority and Standard mark on the product or package.

25. Products under Mandatory Licencing/Certification Requirements of Bureau of Energy Efficiency

Products under mandatory BEE certification shall not be allowed to sell, stock or exhibit/display or offer for sale without obtaining certifications from BEE and display of Star rating label on product and Packaging.

26. Products under Mandatory Licencing/Certification Requirements of TEC/WPC

Products under mandatory TEC/WPC certification shall not be allowed to sell, stock or exhibit/display or offer for sale without obtaining certifications from DoT and display of TEC mark on product and/or Packaging.

27. Recalled/Used Products

Products recalled by regulatory authority under the implication of law or voluntarily recalled by manufacturer/Brand owner/supplier/distributor, any used Products.

28. Weapons - Firearms, Arms and Ammunition

• Ammunition that is loaded with harmful liquids or gases, such as rockets, grenades, bombs, missiles including any form of ammunition or products utilized in the production of ammunition. Components for ammunition including but not limited to lead, sulfur, chlorates, and perchlorates.
• Firearms Prohibition: This includes semi-automatic firearms, guns, smooth bore guns, center fire rifles (including semi-automatic), rifles, pistols, revolvers, and any weapons designed to discharge noxious liquids/gases, any type of firearm or individual parts used for building, upgrading, or enhancing a firearm, such as speedloaders. Firearm accessories intended to increase firepower including muzzle brakes, bump stocks, rails, barrel shrouds, forward pistol grips, and threaded barrels for semi-automatic pistols, gunpowder, explosive targets, firearm frames, receivers, firearm kits, parts/accessories/instructions/blueprints for assault/non assault weapons, pistol conversion kits, products used to conceal the sound or sight of a firearm shot, such as silencers, flash suppressors, muzzles, and suppressors.
• Firearms, Ammunition, Militaria & Weapons (including amongst other things, Swords, Decorative Swords, Metallic Pellets, Stun Guns, Air Guns, Bayonets, Knuckles, any products associated with assault weapons, etc.
